I, too, remember Walter fondly.  I counted both John and Walter as good friends in my neighborhood as well as school.

I'm so very sad to hear this. I remember Walter to be a kind, good hearted, fun loving person who accepted everyone. What a loss.

So very sorry to hear this news. Walt was a great guy! And my heart goes out to his best friend, John. I know what it's like to lose your lifelong best friend. It's like losing a part of yourself...

Walt was a great guy and one of the best storytellers. I remember him well!   Will miss seeing him but sure he will be with us in spirit at the reunion.

This is sad news indeed.  John, I know you're going to miss him but I also know you will never regret your last conversation with him, letting him know you loved him and telling him so.  It's a great lesson for all of us letting the people we love know so by expressing it out loud.  Walt was a great guy.

My sympathies also go to Walter's family.  He was one of my earliest friends way back in kindergarten at Washington Elementary.  He was kind and fun!

Walter was a great guy, could talk to anybody. I remember he gave me some jewels of advice that helped me survive my first date!
