BLOOMINGTON - Reginald E. "Reggie" Curry, 73, of Bloomington, passed away at 5:38 a.m., on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded after services and a private inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
He was born May 1, 1951, in Bloomington, son of Samuel Jr and Agnes Miller Curry. He married Rhonda L. Chalk-Dunson on February 15, 1997 in Bloomington.
Surviving are his wife, Rhonda, Bloomington; six children, Adia Dunson-Riggs (Terry) and Eura Dunson (Maurice Woodfork), both of Bloomington, Reginald Dunson, Houston, Texas, Marcus Johnson, Bloomington and Regina (Tobias) Howard and Deonte Thornton, both of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Ronald (Willie) Curry, Bloomington; three sisters, Joyce (Timothy) Johnson, Bloomington, Judith Johnson, Joliet and Kathy Gant-Fields, Bloomington and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Reggie attended Bloomington High School, where he was a standout player on the basketball team and graduated in 1970. He worked for the City of Bloomington as a sanitation engineer for many years.
He was a man of few words with an amazing sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his wife.

Not many knew Reggie and I were cousins. We had a lot of fun growing up and playing lots of basketball. I was able to vist him in the hospital prior to his passing.
