Joyce Ann Smock Alcorn of Normal, IL died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:42 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. She was 58.

Joyce was born on September 23, 1952 in Bloomington to Raymond M. “Smokey” Smock and Margie “Irene” Ball Smock.

She married Gary Alcorn on June 27, 1992 in Funks Grove, IL. He survives.

She is survived by her mother, a son, Todd Smith of Bloomington; 2 Step-Daughters, Jamie Alcorn of Bloomington, IL and Jessica Alcorn of Bloomington, IL.

Special Friends: Patty Sears, Pat Baize, and Cathy Ethington, all of Bloomington

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and three grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her father, step-father Harold “Red” Swearingen, and son, Donald Earl Smith.

Joyce was a rural letter carrier for the Post Office. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, attending plays with Gary, and spending time with her friends.
